TikTok Shop UK newly opened the doors to its first-ever brick-and-mortar pop-up on Oxford Street in London, spotlighting tech, home and living products and books. Although this pop-up isn’t open the public, it’s welcoming existing and prospective merchants and creators for a limited time. From this location, merchants and creators on the platform are hosting livestreams—according to data, 50% of TikTok users have bought something after watching a TikTok LIVE, and TikTok users are 1.7 times more likely to watch branded LIVEs to buy products than non-users.
What’s more, #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt is a hashtag with over 61 billion views, indicating TikTok’s influence as a powerful part of the purchasing journey. With these kinds of experiences, TikTok focuses on “community commerce” and a blend of shopping and entertainment.
