Self-studying is an essential part of the student experience but can be a lonely and/or boring experience, which is something the conceptual ‘Summy’ study timer is intended to combat against. The device works by being positioned onto a desk where it can be activated to set a specific amount of time for studying. Students can connect with their peers directly on the display in the form of small pixelated characters to let them send a voice message, see their schedule and more.
The conceptual ‘Summy’ study timer is the design work of Simay Tokus, Muhammet Uzuntas and Brenda Gallardo Flores, and could help to make self-studying sessions much easier for students to practice. The device is capable of being brought anywhere thanks to its portable construction and works with a wireless charging base to be powered back up.
