Samsung recently announces the upcoming launch of the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to its smartphones, which ensures that it will be ultra durable. Throughout the past, companies have discarded the headphone jack, large chargers, and the home button, and the phone case may be the last to be made obsolete.
Corning claims that the new iteration of the Gorilla Glass is able to gall from a height of one meter and can sustain drops on hard surfaces including concrete and asphalt. However, it is encouraged that this is to be avoided still and more information will be released on which products the material will be applied to. It is also not clear if it will be used to construct the front and back of the phones just yet.
