Skyesports announced a new partnership with ‘The Pokemon Company’ for the purpose of hosting a Pokemon UNITE tournament in India. The Pokemon Company is a Nintendo-owned studio that is responsible for the majority of the Pokemon games and spin-offs, such as the recently-released Pokemon UNITE massive online battle arena (MOBA) game.
The tournament will be part of the Skyesports Championship 4.0, a large tournament festival hosted by the South Asian esports organization. The qualifiers for the tournament will be from November 21st to December 2nd, while the playoffs will be from December 3rd to 13th. The Pokemon UNITE tournament on its own will feature a prize pool of Rs 2.25m, or roughly $24,000 USD. The tournament will be livestreamed from all Skyesports channels, making this one of the largest Pokemon UNITE events ever in India.
